Update part of the URL in a RaaS with Today's Date

I have a RaaS that has an Effective date... i want to update this effective date to "Todays Date each time its run... 

I have the control parameter, with the Action tool...

I have selected the "URL" and noted the "Replace Specific String" as the date to be updated...  what am i missing?

are you using the download tool or some workday specific tool? assuming the former - you don't need to do that. just parameterize your URL field and feed it into the download tool. make changes to the field.

set up the download tool to take URL from a field. have the URL in a field. Change the field.
