Transpose tool problem - column missing

I'm taking the basic course and have a reoccurring problem with the transpose tool, and I don't understand why.  If a column is added in a tool before, for example by the Record ID tool, the new column isn't there as an input when I use the transpose tool. See attached file.

How can that be solved? Does anyone know?

@ElinG - it looks like you have 2 tools one on top of the other. The RecordID tool is not actually connected to the Transpose tool
