Hello all. Our organization recently updated Alteryx to version 2024.1, but a few of the folks who use the predictive tools quite extensively say they actually preferred the tools from the previous version. Is there a way to get the tools from the old version into the new version?
Solved! Go to Solution.
What differences are you seeing? (I can't check myself due to being still on 2023.2)
The only option you may have is right clicking on the brown Predictive tools and you can select the tool version from there
A coworker of mine is the one who noticed the differences, he uses those tools quite a bit. He said that the new tool set will not summarize the model output. He had created macros based on the previous versions and, after upgrading, the macros have stopped working because of that. He had customized some of the predictive tools to have outputs he found more useful, but after upgrading his customized tools won't work.
Thank you for the suggestion, we will give that a try.
I'd be surprised if they made significant changes to those tools as I don't see any updates on those in the Designer 2024.1 Release Notes (alteryx.com), so I'd love to see more context if possible. I added a screenshot though above to hopefully help!
I also might suggest that if the tools are being used as a custom macro anyways, it may be beneficial to break apart those tools into their components since they are just macros themselves!
He showed me what is going on. It looks like, in the new version, the Predictive tab doesn't have any tools in it any more (except for maybe 1 or 2). He has tools in the Machine Learning tab, but those tools do not provide the summary as seen in the screenshot below.
During the upgrade then, the Predictive tools must not have been installed if they are not seeing all of them available. Make sure that they are installed as they are separate from the Designer install!
