Tool Annotations - Remove Vexing Outline

Tool annotations -- anyway to show tool annotations without the disgusting box outline?  They vex me.

Well @hellyars, prepare to continue being vexed.

It seems that the borders around the annotations are always drawn in Gray and there's no option to change the colour.  The very best that you can do is to change the canvas colour to Gray as well, which hides the borders, but causes error messages to be almost unreadable.

So unless you never make errors while developing your workflows, you have to put up with the borders.
