The input "Publish (final)" was not initialized

I created a workflow (saved on our shared network drive) yesterday with a "Publish to Tableau Server" tool and an Export to Excel file. It worked fine through out the day. This morning, one of my colleagues attempted to run the workflow using his access to the shared network drive but it wouldn't run. When I went into the shared network drive and looked at the workflow I created yesterday, the "Publish to Tableau Server" tool is now showing an error message, "The input "Publish (final)" was not initialized."

I'm not familiar with this error message. I attempted to reconnect the tool to our Tableau Server and it seems to connect with no issues but I still get the "not initialized" error. I attempted to bring in a new "Publish to Tableau Server" tool into the workflow, upon configuration, I still get the "not initialized" error.

I haven't made any changes to our Tableau Server or the workflow since yesterday when the workflow ran with no issues. Not sure why it's now showing this "not initialized" error.

Might anyone have any suggestions for resolution?

Hi @edmund_belleza ,

Did you update the Alteryx designer or server recently?

I would suggest you to download the newest version if you haven't.

For these type of 'new' and not documented erros, I suggest you contact the support team as mentioned in the link above.

Best,

Hi,

Did you ever find a solution? We just upgraded our Designer and Server to 2020.4 and in the process of upgrading the Server Usage report (we use a slightly customized version) I am getting the same error.

I have updated the Server Usage Macro and Designer, Server are upgraded. Please let me know if you found anything that worked. Thanks,
