System and user connection

HI everyone, 

i am trying to establish a system connection in alteryx desiginger which is installed on the server(virtual Box) and i am unable to select system option when creating a connection. Its disabled to me.

 

Can any one help me please.

Hi @saiHareesh,

 

Do you have the admin version of Alteryx installed on your workstation? In order to set up a System DSN, you will need to both have the admin version of Alteryx installed, and then to run Alteryx as an admin. To run Alteryx as an admin, right-click on Designer icon on your machine, and from the drop-down menu select Run as Administrator. This should allow you to select System from the Type drop-down.
