Hello All,
First off, let me say this community is so responsive and always has great ideas. I've had to adjust one of my WFs from a 'Text input' that I adjusted weekly to using a "Connect-in-DB" as we are moving to Server.
Anyway, here is my conundrum. Our work week is Sunday to Saturday, grouped in 13 4 week periods. Depending on which week is starting we may have to run the prior week, the prior 2 weeks, prior 3 weeks, or prior 4.
1) Need confirmation on best formula to pull prior week data
2) Example of how to pull prior 2 or 3 weeks for example
My thought is I will need to create 4 different versions of the WF. Depending on which week is starting the appropriate WF would be scheduled. (i.e. starting week 3 I'd want to pull prior 2 weeks)
I don't see a way to have a singular WF that could be scheduled to pull accordingly.
The twist is at a later point in the WF there is an additional "Connect-in-DB" that a variable needs to be adjusted from the prior year to the current year. The actual date changes from year to year, but it is the same week in one of the 13 periods every year. This one has me stumped. My only thought is to to expand to 8 different versions (4 versions w/ PY and 4 w/ CY) Schedule them accordingly.
Any insights are appreciated as always.
Hello @MNewt9 ,
Could you detail a little more the explanation? What do you mean with prior 4 weeks? Does that mean that the workflow would need to switch the date input from the textbox to 4 weeks prior?
Could you also give us a mock of the conditions? are they easily established.
We may be able to come up with a solution that works on a single workflow 🙂
Regards
Hello,
Here is the current Text Box, that I need to convert to using a "Connect-in-dB" if I want to schedule this WF w/ server.
I update the "FROM" and "TO" each week pulling in data that includes the "FROM" date and everything prior to the "TO" date. I also update the FSC, but I know I can use a static table to populate that instead of populating it here. The "Current Week" is not tied to the "FROM" or "TO" date. It activates another item in the WF only if it is listed as "1".
Essentially based on a yearly set 13 periods consisting of 4 weeks each for a total of 52 weeks I need to be able to schedule a WF, depending on what week is starting to pull "X" number of prior weeks. Example is 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 2x1, etc. Those weeks are applied to the data set as Period Week via a static table downstream from the start point.
Example: It's Monday morning of week 3 of period 2. I need to be able to schedule a WF to pull all the data for the prior 2 weeks Sunday to Saturday. The following week (week 4) of period 2 I'd need to be able to pull all the data for the prior 3 weeks. If it is week 1 of a new period (period 3) then I need to pull the entire 4 weeks of the prior period/previous 4 weeks.
