Sum of fields based on a category

Hello everyone,

 

I have the below data,

And this is what I am aiming to achieve:

Basically, sum of revenue category and expense category separately for each month so that I can output visualizations.

A summarize tool should do the trick for you.

Thank you for the response Jagdeesh. What if there is a new month column added every month? Is there a way to automate it without manually changing the summarize tool?

Please find attached a sample workflow. In this the output from the batch macro will give you the dynamic summarizing capability.

Thank you for the solution @Qiu. That helps a lot. I'm slowly starting to learn based on inputs from people like you. Very much appreciate it. Is it possible to get line charts in Alteryx for the same data? I mean Months on X axis and $ amounts on Y axis with each line for Revenue and Expense?
