Struggle in Excel!!

ShahlaJahangard

hey!

I have a question which can be solved very fast and easy in excel but not sure how it works in Alteryx.

a picture of my question has attached.

I want to repeat values in first column for all values below that, the problem with Alteryx is that;

I cannot make something similar to excel in it, which shows any related values below each other.

(the values below the bold value are kinda sub group of the bold one)

can i make something like this excel file in Alteryx too?

or if not, is there any way to find related ones and just move values of the bold one to the the others??

Thanks so much for sharing your ideas!!! 🙂

Hi @ShahlaJahangard ,

can you provide the mock up in Excel of what you have and the required outcome. I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

@ShahlaJahangard ,

I think you might just need my autofill tool.

I've attached the macro, you should see it in your "Preparation" section.

Not sure I understand your requirements.

It sounds like you're trying to copy values down to blank cells in the same column?

In your second column, do you want to duplicate 508.56 to any empty rows below?

Try the Multi-row formula tool.  Here's the Mastery article: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Knowledge-Base/Tool-Mastery-Multi-Row-Formula/ta-p...

You can also search the Community for "multi-row multi-field", for help copying values down to empty cells in multiple columns.

If you provide input data and desired output, people here can usually help with a sample workflow.

@ShahlaJahangard ,

I've attached the example with the macro.

This is the output:

Hi @ShahlaJahangard ,

I don't have anything to compare it to.

If you could post some mock data showing what you have and what you would like then we can help.

@ShahlaJahangard ,

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but I have no idea what you're trying to do 🙂

This is the original data:

mceleavey_0-1636642936438.png

How does that relate to this:

mceleavey_1-1636642963336.png

So, I now have the output you require, but it doesn't relate to the original data, and doesn't describe what you want to do.

I may just be missing the point here, but could you please provide a FROM and TO so I can see what you're trying to do?
