Skip Google Sheets output if 0 records

When using Google Sheets as output and there are occasionally 0 records write I get error:

"Error trying to publish spreadsheet: HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request"

Is there any way to skip output to connector if no records?

Im stuck on an older version (which I cant upgrade at this time)  so looks like controller containers aren't an option for me.

unfortunately drive doesnt work for us right now but appreciate your suggestion

I used a record counter along with a macro to solve issue
