Sharepoint output tool unable to change output path with Action tool

I am currently working on version 23.2 of alteryx with version 2.7.1 of Sharepoint tool.

The input tool is working good and if i use the Action tool for my app to dynamically change input path with the choice of the user everything works well. though the same can't be said for the output tool where it seems that the action tool can only change the file name but it still lands in the dafult path regardless of user input.

actually if i try to change the file path manually in the field "file path" in output tool I notice that nothing changes, i can only change but moving through folder in the box below. is this a bug with the tool?

Thank you for the help

Hi @Riccardo_Bacci  can you try changing the action tool to "Update Value (default)" rather than Update Raw XML?  Also ensure the correct item in the Action tool to update is highlighted.

I tried that and it doesn't work either, though after some manual tests (so action tool aside) i really believe that is something wrong in the tool. If i update manually with a different value the green box in print screen, it is reflected in red box BUT it will actually still run in the previous selection of the tool.

the only way to actually correctly indicate the path to the tool is manually clicking on the folders in the red box until i get to the correct directory.

so that is why i believe the action tool fail, cause i think it updates the green box as i would manually do, but in the back hand nothing happens.

Input tool is a different scenario, the manual changes are taken and in fact the same action tool works fine there both with update default and update XML

Hi @Riccardo_Bacci interesting issue.  Can you check that you have py3.8_v2.7.1 and not py3.10_v2.7.1?  If you have the 3.8 I would open a ticket in My.Alteryx.com so they can see if this specific scenario has been reported.

so before creating this thread I did downloaded the latest version for my build: SharePoint_py3.8_v2.7.1

thanks for the tip, i will open a ticket and see what they reply
