SharePoint Connectivity Issues - Alteryx diverting login to Chrome instead of Edge

Hello all,

I have been attempting to connect a 'SharePoint Files Output' tool to a SharePoint site, and I am running into some authentication issues. When I select 'Sign in via Internet Browser', I am met with the login screen where I enter my organization email. This is where it sometimes diverges into a couple of different outcomes, but they will all lead me to the same end. Once I am logging into Microsoft, I am ultimately met with this error:

ethan_worley_rsm_0-1649277273991.png

"This application contains sensitive information and can only be accessed from:
  • Devices or client applications that meet RSM management compliance policy.
Since you're using Chrome, you need to install this extension. You must be on Windows 10 version 1703 and above. Alternatively, you can use Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer to access this application." <<<For the Googlers

I have already logged into Chrome to try and download the extension mentioned, only to find out it is already downloaded in Chrome. I have also made sure that my default Internet Browser is Edge. I am also already on Windows 10 and my version is above the specified 1703.

My question has two parts:
  1. Has anyone ran across this, and, if so, has there been any fixes?
  2. Why is Alteryx defaulting to use Chrome instead of Edge as it's browser, and regardless of that question is there a way to tell Alteryx to use a different browser? I am not selecting anything within Alteryx to tell it which browser to open it in, so I seemingly do not have any control within the SharePoint tool.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

My guess is that your SharePoint is missing some permissions to let you access it from Alteryx. Your IT team should follow this article to get the SharePoint connector working from Alteryx (SharePoint Files Input version 2.0.1 and later):
