Hi Community Members,
I understand that the internal configuration of the tool commands it to automatically add http:// to any script or web links or email address it comes across when it’s hyperlinked. For example – If it’s a mailto link which is typically used for email address, it will add http://mailto:alteryxuser@outlook.com which renders it useless. When I click, it opens chrome and not my email client so generally I don't hyperlink it and use as a general text. Now, I have a very long script with a mailto which I want to be present in the email body and it has to be hyperlinked. How can I bypass the unwanted http://?

Hey @ImMoinak94
Can you send a screenshot where you are seeing this?
Here are two snips of the problem - 1. Will take me nowhere 2. Will open my email client. I would need the second to happen for me.
1.2.
The configuration of the Report Text tool looks like this
Hi @ImMoinak94 ,
It seems from the documentation on the tool that it has to have a http:, and will be added if this isn't the case:
https://help.alteryx.com/current/designer/report-text-tool
I don't see this as avoidable within this case
@ImMoinak94
I stand corrected! I have found a way to do it by enabling expert mode:
This will mean that you will have to adjust your text with html tags if you want to adjust text size and boldness etc, which i'm more than happy to help you through, but it does work!
I have attached an example below
Good work @TheOC
FYI - there is also a special tag you can use called <htmlpassthrough> https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Discussions/HTML-Pass-through/td-p/56429
@joshuaburkhow @TheOC Thank you for your response. It does solve my issue partially. However, I want to include plain texts in my email body along with a hyperlink.
My email body looks something like this -
Hey, Happy weekend. If you would like to drop an email please click on this link. Now, this is typically an object-text issue but would love to know a workaround. Essentially, I am attaching 2 Report texts and use the initial hyperlinked one as a field in the second report text tool. Appreciate your help.
This is how my email body looks right now.
This is my configuration.
Hi @ImMoinak94 ,
Sorry to hear that didn't fully solve it - I may need you to attach a workflow so that I understand fully what you mean, but from what I think, i have attached a workflow that uses the link from the first report text in the second report text, hope this helps.
@TheOC Thanks again. But here is how my requirement looks like.
Hey, Happy weekend. If you would like to drop an email please click on this link here (link here includes my hyperlink). But if you don’t want to send an email that’s okay, we always have the Monday to discuss.
I need the link right in the middle of a bunch of texts before and after it.
hi @ImMoinak94
I believe I have fixed this within one Report Text Tool, but if you need in it two let me know.
