If we have an end user that has read only access to the reports generated by Alteryx Designer, will this create a footprint on their device?

As you describe the read-only access to designer outputs, I don't see the connection to Alteryx. As a consumer of Alteryx output, they won't need a license or installation on their computer. This is entirely true if they are accessing Alteryx applications on the server. If however the output is a yxdb or other proprietary output where Alteryx is needed to open the output, then a license is required.
