Random Distribution

Dear Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am seeking assistance with optimizing my current workflow related to the random distribution of samples across different names based on the total number of samples. Currently, I am utilizing the Rand formula and the Generate Rows tool. However, before executing the workflow, I need to set limits on the number of samples each name receives.

I believe the workflow would be more efficient if I could avoid setting these limits manually. I have experimented with various tools to achieve the desired distribution limits based on the total sample count. Unfortunately, an error occurs when using tools outside of the original workflow, which is connected to the Generate Rows tool.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or support you can provide to resolve this issue.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,

Franzil

@Franzil

In this case why don't you build it inside the original workflow so you will not get the error?

hello @OTrieger

I am writing to share my new sample workflow, which has successfully executed in my test environment. However, I encountered an error related to the "Append Fields" tool, indicating that "there were more than 16 records in the source," along with a filepath error. Despite these errors, the expected output is being generated.

I would appreciate any insights or guidance you could provide to help resolve these issues.

@OTrieger FYI, issue on fullpath has been resolved. I still don't get it why I have an error on append tool.

In the append tool you have the option to ignore this error type. You can change this selection and then you will not going to get this error. It is a build in setting, I guess to warn the user on this.ap.PNG
