Publish to Tableau error Connection to platform was not successful FIX

Ever sine we upgraded our server and desktop designer to 2022 and beyond we have been receiving this error "Connection to platform was no successful" when trying to publish to Tableau from our local PCs and the gallery.

 

I developed a new macro(attached) that uses python to achieve the same result that works. 

 

You will need these packages installed locally and the gallery

  • ruamel-yaml (not sure if this is needed or not)
  • pathlib
  • tableauhyperapi
  • tableauserverclient

 

CAVEAT EMPTOR: I am NOT python pro. It has worked for me and my team so far.
