Preserve formatting with Data Validation and Table in Excel

Hi- 

I am trying to create an analytic app where the user pulls an excel template as a SharePoint input and it downloads on the user's PC. This excel template provided has Data Validation fields and multiple formatted templates, but when the file downloads, all of the Data Validation dropdowns and the table formatting disappears. I have tried using the Preserve Formatting on Overwrite and provided a range of cells when I chose what file to write the output to, but my issue still occurs. 

Does anyone have a solution as to how to keep the table and Data Validation formatting?
