I can't open a workflow from the File menu. When selecting File from the top menu, nothing happens; however, I am able to click view and the menu drop down appears.

ok, silly question, but have you restarted Alteryx? Also, it's not clear how much of the screen you're showing in the screenshot. Is the canvas visible for you?
It appears the issue was due to me having shared network files open on my local machine that was trying to sync with my virtual machine where Alteryx is installed. Once I closed the files on my local machine, the File menu was enabled.
