Parsing and melting data

Hi everyone and anyone!

I have data that looks similar to what I have created below:

Partner	amount	campaign
RS	7.26	abc - def- ghi
Spot	22.88	def - ghi
U2	9.72	xyz - uvw - srt - opq

What I want is to maintain the data, but create rows based on splitting the campaign. So it would look like:

Partner	amount	campaign
RS	7.26	abc
RS	7.26	def
RS	7.26	ghi
Spot	22.88	def
Spot	22.88	ghi
U2	9.72	xyz
U2	9.72	uvw
U2	9.72	srt
U2	9.72	opq

My thought process would be two parse the campaign into separate columns and then gather/melt those columns. But, I am neither sure that this would be the best way nor do I know how to go about this in Alteryx.

Appreciate any ideas!

Hi @Lakshmi3,

You can solve that by using a text to columns tool and a formula to trim left spaces.

Example attached.
