PC/Laptop Specification

People of Alteryx community, Happy New Year!

I'd like to poll you on what specification your laptops/PCs are for running Alteryx?

I've seen the recommended specifications on the Alteryx website, however I'd like to get some feedback on your own set ups and whether they are adequate or if you've had to upgrade?

(Currently looking to upgrade as I've been struggling with certain workflows using predictive tools)

Many thanks in advance

Hi @OscarGeorge

This is just my opinion.

Designer runs fine on 8GB RAM, but better with 16GB, which is what I prefer. In my opinion, processor speed and cores are important, but since Alteryx does a lot of disk IO, a fast SSD disk is really important.

As for your workflows, there are various thing you can do to speed them up. Enable Performance Profiling to investigate which tools are slowing your workflows down, then you can focus on making them more efficient. Play around with the AMP engine to enable multi-threaded processing.

There's a lot you can do to make your workflows more efficient.
