New to Alteryx Designer

Question

Hi everyone,

I am learning about Alteryx Designer in a college course this semester. I have enjoyed learning how to use Alteryx and the many capabilities it offers with cleaning data and data analytics. I have been using the Interactive Lessons which has been very useful in learning the different ways to use Alteryx.

I am planning to go into public accounting, either in tax or audit. What are some ways Alteryx is used either in the tax or audit fields? Also, what industries or areas is Alteryx used in?

Hey @mschlegel, I would also recommend downloading and checking out some of the workflows in the Office Of Finance of Finance Starter Kit: https://www.alteryx.com/starter-kit/financial-analytics

In general, within Audit and Tax, Alteryx is great for pulling in multiple data sources to reconcile and automate previously manual processes. This speeds up the time to insights and can allow for continuous compliance risk alerts, monitoring and alerting, etc. Of course that is just scratching the surface!

I would very much recommend the Alteryx use-cases page. Here you can see many examples of the different industries Alteryx is being used in, and how (https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Use-Cases/tkb-p/use-cases).

I would also recommend the User Groups (https://community.alteryx.com/t5/User-Groups/ct-p/usergroups). I can't talk for every User Group, but we (https://community.alteryx.com/t5/North-East-UK/gh-p/NorthEastUK) tend to have use-case discussions on our meetings from other members, which helps people understand new and interesting ways to use the platform.

Most user groups are still virtual too.
