New Container isn't working with an old one

I have an existing workflow with a built container, I added a new container in the workflow and it's working fine but when I add it to the existing container it says "The output connection was not valid".

The outer (right) container is the new one that I'm trying to add to the existing (left) container, both are working fine separately but I want them to become under the main existing container.

It turns out the old container was a Control Container and I was trying to add a Tool Container to them, make sure they're similar
