Map Input Tool error : Timed out waiting for service to start

Hi

I have a problem working on Map Input Tool and need help.

(My Designer is Version: 2022.3.1.450 Patch: 2.)

I am working on Weekly Challenge #220 which has Map Input Tool as input data.

When I click on the Map Input tool, I get the error below.

And then;

If you have similar issue and know a solution or a workaround, please advise.

It may be caused by corruption of RuntimeSettings.xml. Please delete the RuntimeSettings.xml, Designer will make that file automatically and the Map Input tool may work well.

Thank you for your advise.

I deleted RuntimeSetting.xml and tried to start Designer, but it did not come up.

I copied it back from Recycle Bin and then I could start Designer, but the original error of Map Input Tool persists.

Then I changed the User Setting of "Reference Base Map" to "None" but the result is the same.

I would try to uninstall & install Designer, when I have time...

Did you ever find a solution to the map input tool?  It's basically unusable for me.  There are no tools available to draw even if I were able to get the map to appear.

Actually I was able to use the suggestion of renaming the Runtime settings file and it worked!  Thank you!

Is uninstall/reinstall the only option to fix this issue?  Renaming the RuntimeSettings.xml didn't work for me either.

We recently upgraded our Alteryx Server and Designer to 2022.3.

Appreciate any insight folks may have.

Hey, I'm on Version: 2024.1.1.136 Patch: 4

Map input errors here same way. Deleting or renaming runtimesettings does not work for me either. Already did a reinstall, without success. Any other options?
