Macro Error: Optional Anchor is Empty?

I'm lost as to why my workflow is giving an error. It states " The incoming dataset on the optional workflow is empty." But, as you can see in the screenshot there is data coming in.

What about the connection to the control input?  Does it have data?

I'm assuming that's the upside down question mark but yes it has a list of file paths
