List Output tool, extract values of linked items

Would this option bring all the fields of the linked items back in the list?  when i click it, nothing happens?

Apologies.   My SharePoint list has some lookup columns that are used for specific cells.  When I select the option within the sharepoint output tool "extract values of linked items" shouldn't it bring in the values from the linked items?  It doesn't seem to be doing this for me.
