Hi all,
I am wondering if you could help me at all.
I am trying to work out at either the "Alteryx" stage or the "Excel" stage how to label ever shifting duplicate data.
I have a list of dates with a list of tasks, plotted between those dates.
The end result I am trying to get is to label the tasks numerically as shown in "END RESULT NEEDED COLUMN" so that the summarize tool in Alteryx does not group them altogether as one task as shown in flow 1.
If any of you know of a way I could do this please let me know as it would save a lot of time in the excel data compiling stage.
Please be advised that tasks could move "Start and End dates" which will shift the data about but the end result should be the same.
Thanks
Hi Sergio,
Thank you for your input that's great but that's not the answer I am looking for unfortunately.
I am looking for the format which is shown in the second workflow.
So for example in your table it is showing "Dig Footings" as "Task 1" & "Task 2" but dig footings is 1 task.
The dates you see are start and end dates.
The problem I get is, when I don't label them at the excel end, it will take the 1st instance of "Dig Footings" and the last instance of it as it does in the example with "Pour Concrete" and that becomes the start and end date which is incorrect.
That is why the 1st flow shows 5 records and the 2nd flow shows 6 as in both examples there are two different start and end dates with the task "Pour Concrete"
Tricky one isn't it 🤔
Hi Sergio,
Thanks again, I think its almost there, but the multi row formula and the other formulas are only based on one criteria, that being "Pour Concrete"
That's great but if a new task gets added as I have just done in the attached workflow it still returns 6 results.
