Join tool missing columns

Question

Hello,

I am using the join tool in a workflow, the scope is to have a left join (with all the records from the left table + the columns from the right table as in SQL).

However I have notice that in outcome I have only the selected rows without the columns from the right table (those fields are grey and no dimension or type is set).

Is it a way to have such result?

Hey @Scardax, to conduct the equivalent of a left join in Alteryx, you need to Union the results of the L and J anchor. At the moment, you're only taking the results of everything which sits in the left table and didn't find any matches within the right table, therefore the right-hand headers weren't brought in. I've attached a little example here for you to look at - hope this helps.
