Hey guys,
I've found myself in a bit of a rabbit hole on the topic of Interpolating and Extrapolating amounts.
I have certain levels for which the amounts are missing, per each company, and I am trying to either interpolate or extrapolate the missing values based on the existing values and their growth/decay trends. Probably I am overcomplicating myself and thus I've ended up in a rabbit hole and ended up writing this post through which I am asking for your opinion on how would you perform an interpolation/extrapolation based on a decay/growth factor in Alteryx while making use of the attached sample file.
Any idea is welcomed!
Thanks in advance!

I gave a try with simple linear one
Hey @Qiu ,
Thanks for this one!
Love the idea. I've just downloaded the flow and will explore the idea a bit more in depth to see where it takes me.
Will get back on the note, once I've managed to go through it myself.
Thanks again!
Hi @Qiu
Thanks again for sharing your idea with me!
Much appreciated!
Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you! I've been digging into it and trying out a few different options, since it looks like there’s more than one way to approach it depending on what fits best.
Returning to your proposal I did notice an item on Company_1. It appears that that the Levels lower than 5 (the known value) grow in value, rather than decreasing. Any idea on how to avoid this? Maybe a reverse sorting to fit the lower Levels might be an idea. What do you think?
The same is occurring on Company_2, as well.
Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
Ioana
