Interface tool: Input date to change filter?

I have this expression in a filter. How do I link it to the date interface tool so that the date in the expression can be selected? thanks

Connect up an action tool and select replace a specific string:

Also make sure the two dates in your filter are different so they dont overwrite the same date:

Take a look at the attached example. You can select the date and it will replace the date that is in the filter tool:
