What is the meaning of the 3 dots appearing on the input data icon?

That icon is from the Text Input tool.

The standard Input tool has no dots, so the dots of the Text Input tool probably indicate the cells of data that can be entered in that tool. If we want confirmation, we could ask the designer of the icons (TaraM), but I think that's a safe bet.
