Input Multiple MapInfo .tab Files of Varying Schema

I'm looking for a method to bring in a batch of MapInfo .tab files that likely have varying schema within the data, and possibly varying projections.  Can somebody please share an example method that will accomplish this?  I assume that it can be done by using either a macro or directory open approach.  Please advise...thanks kindly!
