How would you improve Alteryx?

Hi everyone,

I'm conducting an analysis into how well Alteryx performs as a solution for my uni coursework. I wanted to gather responses from the community in order to identify areas of high and low quality in Alteryx.

If you wouldn't mind helping me out, please may you reply to this post answering the following question: 'If you could improve 1 thing about Alteryx Designer Desktop, what would it be?'. Feel free to also add any additional comments about your experience with the quality of Alteryx - positive or negative and it can be as small or as big of a detail as you like.

Thanks,

Gabe

Hi!

I would say for positives points:

-The drag-and-drop interface is incredibly intuitive, making it accessible to both technical and non-technical users.
- For the most part, Alteryx is fast.

- IN-DB tecnology, which allows us to manager high volume of data.
- The variety of tools (from basic data prep to advanced analytics) is a significant strength.
- The ability to integrate Python, R, and other APIs provides excellent flexibility for advanced users.

Areas for Improvement, I would say:

- Adding real-time collaborative workflow editing (similar to Google Docs) could benefit teams that work remotely. (Real-time collaboration)

- More practical examples and detailed documentation tailored for non-data scientists in the "Predictive Tools" category

Hi! It’s awesome that you’re looking into how Alteryx works for your coursework. One thing many users would love to improve is how fast the program runs. When working with big workflows, Alteryx Designer can sometimes slow down or freeze, especially on computers that aren’t very powerful.

Other improvements people often mention are:

  • Better error messages: It would be great if Alteryx could give clearer explanations when something goes wrong, especially for new users.
  • Built-in version control: A feature that helps track changes, like a "save history," would make it easier to work on workflows with others.

Alteryx has a lot of great points too—its drag-and-drop setup makes it easy to use, and the community support is very strong. Alteryx listens to feedback and is always getting better, so your research will be super helpful!
