How to Search a Field of Data for Certain Descriptions?

Hello,

I wanted to know which Alteryx tool would be the best for filtering by a certain description in a field of data? For example if I were using Excel I would select the column I wanted to look at and type out in the description field the data I wanted to look at.

I'm curious how I would be able to do the same thing in Alteryx? I've heard of the Fuzzy Match tool, but I'm not sure if there is an easier way to do this if anyone could help with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi rreagan004,

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but if you are looking to filter your data by what is contained in a certain field I suggest you use the Filter tool.

Select field in which you wish to search, and configure the tool to find any records where that field 'contains' your search criteria. Alternatively if you are aware of the contents of the record you may select 'equals' to find an exact match of your search criteria.
