How does Alteryx use Port 80?

According to the system requirements of Alteryx Designer, port 80 but must be opened. https://help.alteryx.com/product-activation-and-licensing/system-requirements

How does Alteryx use port 80? My company takes issue with opening this port, and wants to know if the connections are all outbound from port 80 or inbound into port 80? If you can link to documentation that would be helpful....

That is relevant for some of the other products. If you click on the Designer page vs the Server page - you will see that Designer does not have specific Port requirements vs Server which does:
