How can I create file name and output location in a folder

Hello Great people:

Good morning. How can I create the Output file name as ( Expense file) and want to save the output in a Folder name - Reports?

In my Licensed Alteryx version, the No #2021.2.1.35394 Output file option in the Render tool is grayed out. Is there any workaround except the Render tool? Appreciate your help.

@Kinetic_analytics that is strange and should not be the case.

And you've confirmed that the output mode option is set to "Choose Specific Output File" ?

Sometimes certain tools can glitch, perhaps also try closing down your workflow and dragging a new render tool onto the canvas for configuration.

The only other thing I could think of is checking your runtime settings to see if outputs are disabled. If you are able to generate temp files using the render tool, you could also update the location of where those temp files are saved in the runtime tab shown below. Then you would update the render tool to output to "temporary 2007 excel"

In the render tool you can do it by adding the highlighted portion to your output string.

Youll just need to ensure a "report" folder is created somewhere on your local machine or network drive, and update the beginning portion of the connection string to point to that location.

Your workflow contains many table tools for the reporting tool pallet - the only way to get these exported to excel is using a render tool, output tool wont work.

How can I add a date to the file name? For instance, every day when the workflow will run the file will name accordingly.
