I have GPS traces from a vehicles on the road. How accurate is the spatial calc to actual driven miles on the road?

@JDeJong might not be worth saying, but if you don't have the drive time/distance add on which @BrandonB is talking about, then the Distance tool will calculate everything as the crow flies (i.e. a 'straight' line)
Example of how to calculate distances for each segment. You can use a multi row tool to get a starting point and final point for each segment. I have attached a workflow as reference.

I don't believe the distance tool is accurate. How can I be sure?
