Hello All,

Please help me!!!!

I have installed the 30 day free trial version of alteryx designer form alteryx's website today on 31st May, 2025. Downloaded file name is "AlteryxDownloadManager_NonAdmin_x64.exe" and my windows is also 64bit.

While I am installing the software it is giving me error "object reference not set to an instance of an object".

Can you please help me in resolving this issue.

Thank you.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have already tried this before posting my question here. Not sure what is happening. I am also receiving below window of windows installer.

@himanshuverma_89 --- are you running this on VM or other virtualized environment... I notice that you mentioned:

and my windows is also 64bit.

Assuming you are running on a regular windows x86 machine --- I'd flag this to support --- there's been a few cases of this error in 2025 -- -and it points to cross version bugs (Alteryx is expecting a parameter which isn't being passed in) --- they'll ask you for logs/etc.

If this is not a regular x86 machine --- let's get some details - it's quite possible Alteryx doesn't support your virtualized environment.

Hi All,

Thanks for replying and trying to solve my issue.

Finally I have found the solution. It was an issue in the existing user account of windows that I was using to install the Alteryx.

Once I created a new user account with administrator rights and then downloaded the Alteryx it is running smoothly without any issues.

Below are the steps to do it:

1. Create new user account in windows with administrator rights.

2. Login in computer with new user account.

3. Download Alteryx in the new user account.

4. Run the downloaded ".exe" file.

Please let me know if anyone have further query or need assistance in creating the new user account or any of the above mentioned step.

Thank you so much!
