Curious if anyone out there has built a workflow that can calculate a Generalized / Becker IRR as outlined in this paper?
The author of the above paper has written a custom Visual Basic "solve for" function that works well in Excel, but is quite slow and therefore ineffective when performing this calculation on tens of thousands of individual cash flow streams.
Any ideas on this? It is likely that an iterative macro is needed for this - an area I have not ventured into.
Note this is (I believe) different than any IRR calculation that is currently available in the summarize tool or formula tool.

Thank you for responding- unfortunately it does not. The method outlined in the paper is iterative in nature and designed to handle future negative cash flows

ok thanks for your reply.
I think it is important to set the expectation management here: reviewing such a paper and customize formula accordingly is probably too much for a community post unfortunately.
I hope the following interactive lesson gives you a starting point regarding using and creating formula:
In case this requires a Machine Learning approach, I recommend the Data Science Learning Path:

Understood - was just trying to track someone down who may have been familiar with the concept.
Time to dig in and learn macros!
Thanks again.
