GenAI LLM Connection from Alteryx One Not Available in Alteryx Designer

I am trying to use Alteryx GenAI tools in Alteryx Designer. I have already created an LLM connection in Alteryx One, but I am unable to connect or access this connection in Designer.

Could someone please help with:

* Required Designer version and licensing

* Steps to configure and sync the LLM connection from Alteryx One to Designer

* How to correctly set up the LLM Override / GenAI tools

* Common reasons why the connection does not appear in Designer

Any guidance or documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Kalyan, I ran into something similar recently. A few things that helped me:

* Designer version & licensing – Make sure you’re on a version of Alteryx Designer that supports the GenAI tools (I was using 2026.1+). Also, the GenAI features require the appropriate license; just having the LLM connection in Alteryx One isn’t enough.

* Syncing the LLM connection – In Designer, you need to sign in with the same Alteryx One credentials. The LLM connections don’t automatically appear; you often have to go to Options → User Settings → GenAI / LLM Connections and refresh or add the connection manually.

* LLM Override / Tool setup – Make sure the override settings in Designer match what you configured in Alteryx One. Sometimes the connection works but the override is pointing to a blank or different instance.

* Common issues – Most of the time, the connection doesn’t appear because of mismatched credentials, Designer version, or missing licensing. Also, firewall or network restrictions can block Designer from seeing the LLM endpoints.

If you haven’t already, checking the Alteryx GenAI docs and running a quick test with the sample tool can confirm the connection is working before using it in a full workflow.

I have upgraded my alteryx designer to version 25.2 and it worked.

Please ensure the following steps are completed:

* The Manage Licenses section is properly connected to Alteryx One.

* An LLM connection has been successfully created in Alteryx One using any supported model.

* After this, authenticate within the LLM Override Tool by navigating to Alteryx Links and ensuring the Alteryx One connection is active and successfully linked.
