I have a workflow that runs on a schedule. The sheet of the file gets replaced every time the workflows to capture new data. Although I have been able to open the file with no issue, lately I am getting the message that "Excel cannot open the file xyx because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file.
I have deleted the file, created a new one and the message keeps coming up. Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.

@verde0903 can you open the file in excel (outside of alteryx)?
@verde0903 try selecting the file and path manually in new workflow.
if isssue is resolved then try updating path again in the input tool of your main Folder.
this will help.

@verde0903 could it then be an issue with the file itself rahter than anything in alteryx?
Try repairing the File.
this could be the main reason.
there are are lots of File repairing tools online you can try them.
