Error connecting to Hadoop with MIT Kerberos authentication

Hi,

I wanted to see if anybody is successfully using Alteryx Designer to connect to Hadoop while using MIT Kerberos authentication.

I am getting errors when trying to connect to via a Cloudera connector to either Hive or Impala. We use MIT Kerberos for authentication, and I am able to successfully test both connections in ODBC, but when I try to add the connection in Alteryx, using the syntax: “odbc:DSN=connectionname;”, it gives me an error whenever I try to select the ‘…’ under the Table or Query option. The error is ‘ERROR [28000] [Simba][ThriftExtension] (9) Error occurred while authenticating via SASL. Error details: SASL(-1) generic failure: GSSAPI.’

After contacting Alteryx support, they provided me this knowledge base article: https://knowledge.alteryx.com/index/s/article/Error-generic-failure-GSSAPI-Error-Unspecified-GSS-fai...

I followed the steps in ‘Solution A’ to create an API ticket cache and a Before Run event, and I can see that it is generating an API ticket in MIT Kerberos, but I am still getting this same error in Alteryx Designer.

There are no issues connecting using this connector in other applications (such as Tableau), so my thought is I either do not have this configured properly in Alteryx or it does not support it.

Thanks for your help.
