English words recognized as double - How to Fix?

Hi Guys,

I've got a data format problem that feels like a rookie one but can't fix. Could anyone please help?

In my Excel source data, there is a column for country names, some cells have data, some cells are empty. The Select tool recognizes it as double. After I changed the format to V_WString in the tool, the country names are still shown as numbers in following steps.

Any clue on what's wrong?

Thanks Binuacs. The error is fixed although I don't know why. In the Input Data tool, I changed to automatic range selection instead of manual range setting, then the field is recognized as string.

I agree with @binu_acs - If there is text data in the column, it shouldn't come across as a Double. My guess would be that the column is completely empty
