Dynamic Rename - Adding a random ID to the end of each field

Is there a way to add a random ID to the end of each field as a suffix?

The dynamic rename tool allows you to add a suffix, but you have to input a specific suffix in the tool. I'd like the suffix to be generated from a random generator coming from a different tool (Ex: the text input tool in my example).

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Hi @kyiu

You can use the dynamic rename tool with the config take names from the right input to set the names. Refer below.

Hope this helps : )

Hi @atcodedog05,

Sorry I displayed the data text input in the wrong format. What if the field names listed in rows instead of columns? And their respective values are in the column next to it.

Using your approach, I'm trying to get 'New Name' to replace 'Field Name'. However 'Field Name' doesn't show up as an option in the dynamic rename tool. Do you know why this is? Are there any different approaches?

Thanks again!

Hi @kyiu

Column name of 'Field Name' is 'Name'. Try searching for 'Name' column.

Hope this helps : )

Hi @atcodedog05,

I don't think that worked. The original field names are still the same. It isn't taking the new name.
