Drivetime Dataset for Learning Purposes

Is there a way to get a basic/outdated drivetime dataset for my own learning. I just want to be able to calculate distances "as the wolf runs" rather than "as the crow flies".

 Check out things like the mapbox APIs as you get a free quota and there are mapbox tools available for Alteryx which makes quickly building this into your workflow easy.
