Downloading Solutions to Exercises

Hello, I am fairly new to the exercises and working through solutions. When I get stuck I like to open other people's submissions to see if I am on the right path, but when I try to open them, all the input data tools have the red exclamation point that reads "cant find file location" so it doesn't allow me to see the steps and what to select within the tool. Even when I try to open the solution I upload, it will say it cant read the file. Is there a specific way to open these so I can see what's being done?

** I attached pictures of the error messages in workflows I try to open. One is my workflow, the other is an example I tried to open. I can only open stuff alteryx submits, no one else's.

The exclamation points you're seeing in the workflow typically indicate broken file paths. This often happens when the input files are stored locally on the machine of the user who published the workflow. Since you don’t have access to that local directory, Alteryx can't locate the files, resulting in errors.

If the workflow is published in a packaged file (.yxzp) then it will include both the workflow and its associated files. Then workflow will run smoothly as the inputs will point to those files

The simplest solution is to reach out to the original publisher and ask them to share the missing files otherwise 😊.

Input files are missing in the workflow, Once cross-check then file path was changed

Keep in mind, also, that even if you have the files, the location that you place them matters. So, you may still need to update the path where the replacement file is being put so that the example workflow knows where to point to. Most people try and embed samples as Text Tools to avoid this confusion. Other people will keep the input files co-located with the workflow and reference them like: " .\sample_data.csv" where the dot-backslash which is a reference to the same folder the workflow is saved within. So if you ever see that, just make sure the sample data is in the same folder as the workflow itself.
