Directory Tool - Can it be amended to run as other user than the Windows log-on user?

Hi:

We are looking for a way to offer file directory, folder, and document analyses for multiple teams where the folder ownership varies.

Is there any way to alter or amend the Directory tool, or create a replica workflow to allow us to run as another user (with their permission)?

If that persons runs the workflow on their machine, the Directory tool should rely on that persons access to files within that folder. Alternatively you could covert the reflow into an app and use a Folder Browse tool to have the user specify the folder they want to read in. Note though - this Folder Browse does not work on Server if you leverage Server in your organization.
