So I have data flowing towards a detour end tool and I can see it coming up on the L input on the tool itself but is not actually pulling through any of the data. There is no configuration so there is nothing I can do. It has worked plenty of times but has suddenly stopped working now with no explanation anywhere. Hoping someone can help with this or I will have to send it in as a software query. This isn't the first time I've had problems with consistency within Alteryx. A few notes:
Both inputs are connected.
Detour tool isn't ticked so the Detour End tool should pull through L input data.
There is data, it looks like every previous run but has suddenly stopped working.
Tried restarting my laptop, tried deleting connections and reconnecting, tried deleting and adding the tool in again.
Sadly nothing seems to be working.
Do you have any screenshots of your workflow?
Are there any downstream tools from the detour end tool?
@OllieClarke - you skipped over "is AMP on? can you try switching it off?"
Hi @OllieClarke & @apathetichell
I cannot share a screenshot as it is confidential but I can say there is a RecordID going in to the Detour, and the Detour End tool goes into the L of a Join tool. The R input on this Join tool has data flowing into it.
As for the AMP Engine this is always turned off.
Thanks
A screenshot would really be helpful. You don’t need to show any data, or tool configuration so there shouldn’t be anything confidential visible…
stupid questions - are both sides of the detour connected to the detour end - and is there anything in the detour paths which would drop record?
I tried deleting a chunk of the workflow and adding it back in and it seems to be working again now. Not the nicest of solutions but hopefully this can be useful to someone else with this niche problem.
UPDATE: The issue is back and my previous solution does not work anymore. Not sure where to go from here as I have tried everything I know.
post a screen grab of your workflow. post the action tool configurations into your detour tools.
Hi @apathetichell and @OllieClarke, here are some screenshots. Hoping you're able to help with the problem. I might add that I am not on the latest update (I am using 2021.3) so there may be bugs that have been fixed in later versions. Oh and sorry for the array of colours haha, it's to help the next designer navigate.
This is the L input anchor to the Detour End tool.
This is the output anchor from the Detour End tool.
Finally, this is the Detour tool, illustrating the left path should be used.
