Designer x64 error: not able to run any flow.

Error: Designer x64: The Designer x64 reported: SetParameters had an error: Error while reading 'Parameters': ParseError: unterminated entity reference 'V' at line 1 and column 69

I received this error this morning after installing the Salesforce connector.   Now, none of the flows is running anymore, as this error message pops up at line 1.  How to solve this issue?

Following feedback was delivered by our Alteryx account manager:

This error is occurring before any workflow logic runs. Designer is failing while reading its own configuration parameters (SetParameters / ParseError), which is why all workflows (old and new) are blocked. This points to a corrupted user-level configuration file, most likely introduced when the Salesforce connector was installed.

Before doing a full reinstall, I’d recommend the following quick reset (this resolves the issue in most cases):

1. Close Alteryx Designer
2. Go to
   C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\Alteryx\
3. Rename the folder to something like Alteryx_backup
4. Restart Designer (it will regenerate clean config files)

This solved the  issue for me.
