Description field in Select Tool

Is there a way to access the Description field in the select tool?  I'm using a final select to clean up column names, do some re-ordering and finalize data types.  I would love to be able to put in a description for each field as well and then do a separate output with that info as a data dictionary for the file I am creating.

You can use the FIELD INFO tool.
