Date ranges in formula tool

Hello Community!

I have run into another formula tool question that I am sure that someone here might be able to help with.  I am attempting to determine a release period based on a resolved date record and am either running into a formatting or statement issue where the release period is not being calculated correctly.  I have attempted to use the "to date" function in the statement and have run the workflow through multiple data type changes without success.  Might also be related to how I am bringing in the sprint calendar so any pointers would be appreciated.

If i understand correctly all you need to do is replace the / divider with a - in the dates used in the Formula Tool:

Would you mind exporting the workflow from your screenshots?  I have replaced the union tool with the append and still not seeing the correct release period populated.
